The Hitchhiker's Guide To The EWC 2006

Finding Pitesti from Elsewhere

The "Universe" from God's view. Here you can see how small 13.77 billion light years really are!

www.bbc.co.uk/dna/h2g2/

This is the "Universe". Do not ask God, Allah, Jahwe or Petrus where the "Universe" is. They will not understand you because they simply call this "42".

Ask now God where you can find the "Virgo Supercluster". Perhaps she will not know this so ask for "Hydra Supercluster". Just there you will find the "Virgo Supercluster". Inside this there is the "Virgo Cluster" and the EWC 2006 will be held just in the neighbourhood of the "Virgo Cluster" in a very small system of 30-40 galaxies called the "Local Group".

Try to find now the galaxy "Milky Way". Ask the people living in "Andromeda Nebula" if they can tell you the way to "Milky Way".

Now you will need a map of the "Milky Way".

Quelle: www.ras.ucalgary.ca/CGPS/where/plan/

The map of the galaxy called "Milky Way". Where is the "Earth"? And what the hell is the "Federation" and who are "Klingons"? Oops - wrong map! This is the "Trecky" universe where "Batleths" and some other crazy stuff exists...

Quelle: www.ras.ucalgary.ca/CGPS/where/plan/

Correct map. Now find the "Local Arm" (also known as "Orion Arm") between "Perseus" and "Sagittarius Arm".

Just on the outer 3rd of the "Local Arm" there you will find something called "Solar System". Crazy guys there. They really believed in the past that they are the center of the universe and that their "solar system" is the only one in the universe. Kids, you know...

The "Solar System". After passing the center star called "Sun", third planet from the inside is the "Earth", where the EWC 2006 takes place.

Special Travel Tips
Visiting planet "Venus" (2nd planet) before EWC has an advantage: a day lasts there as long as 116,75 days on planet Earth. So if you have some trouble building your models before EWC give it a try! After this you definitely know that a day can last longer than 24 hours. The temperature around 470°C (864° F) and pressure of 92 bar (1334 psi) should shorten your production cycles dramatically. You will like that when producing your CFRP structures! It is much faster than any autoclave cycle you have ever seen. Longer days and shorter production cycles are the benefit of visiting planet "Venus" before EWC.

The "Earth". Are you sure you want to visit this planet? Rumours say that the Earth has to make way for an interstellar highway soon. And there are people living reading daily a 2000 year old book praying 10 times a day: "Fly Low, Go Fast, Turn Left!". After this they are going into their darkroom to push their batteries.

EWC 2006 Music Corner
The offcial FAI EWC song is already in the charts: "Push The Button" from "Sugababes". The very popular Club Cave Remix is also known as "Push The Batteries - F5 Remix feat. GP"!

So far our very special music tip to get the right EWC 2006 feeling. Now you might use Google Earth for further navigation if you like. Just Pitesti/Romania und you will find it. We use classic maps now.

This is the continent called "Europe". It looks like this when there is no flood and no Ice Age. This might modify the shape a little bit. But long-term weather forecast say there will be no Ice Age and no deluge this summer in Romania. And here we are, Romania, Pitesti:

Now try this one, the dynamic map:

And If you have read the Bulletin No.1 you should also know what this is:

Quelle: http://travel.yahoo.com

This is the Hotel "Muntenia" in Pitesti. We do not know if this is pylon #1 for EWC Pylon Race but this would be the biggest pylon #1 of all times! And if you are still unsure why you have to visit Pitesti, just read this review of somebody visiting Pitesti before us:

Yahoo! User: "Pitesti is a peaceful town .You can get relaxed in there . The girls are amaising werry beautiful and smart. My advice ...you have to go there and you`l see what i`m talking abaut."

Ok guys, do not tell this your wife! This will be definitely your first and last EWC trip where you are allowed to travel alone. And now let's have some fun: charge your batteries, let your f5d pylonracer do "42"!
